The Truth: Part II - The Three Guides

The truth is that every time I think I know what I know, I learn something that I don't.
It's a scary thing, the truth.
It's also liberating, exhilarating, and makes me think of exciting possibilities for the non-too-distant future.

I am not perfect. I am the most flawed person I know. But what I specialise in is the truth, failure and persistence.

With the truth, you have to acknowledge it, feel it and accept it - then allow it to guide you to where you need to be.

I can tell you exactly where the truth has led me.
It's a seven-foot wooden fence, there's been a couple of splinters but the good news is that there are solid beams to take my weight.
I have climbed to the top of the fence and have glimpsed what lies beyond it.
Opportunities that scare and thrill me at the same time.
Now that I have reached the top of the hypothetical fence, I have had the pleasure of receiving three guides.
The first one is Cautious - Cautious and I are good friends, we've kicked back heaps of times debating the pros and cons. Sometimes too much time...

The Cautious: Whoa...back up, easy does it. Nice and slow, there's a girl! Let's think about this some more and make a plan! A plan that is successful and organic!

Then there is Nay-Sayer. Nay-sayer is a cow. She likes to remind me of every shit decision I have made since I was twenty. Plus, she likes to squash ideas that aren't hers. She also doesn't like changes that we have not talked about and she has approved...

The Naysayer: Who the hell are you kidding? You are crazy for wanting to try this! Who would want to hear your ideas? Get back over the fence!

Last of all, there's reckless. She's spontaneous, fun, sparkling and every thing she suggests seems like a bright idea...while some ideas make perfect sense at the time, other ideas once implemented go off-track. Reckless can be such a bad influence...

Reckless: It's high time that you tried something new! What are you waiting for? You are a wild-flower! You march to your own song! If you don't do something now you'll regret it!
Grab that vine and swing, girl friend! (But hey...if it doesn't work, don't blame me!)
😉

My friend Jess has told me twice in the past two weeks that things do not happen by accident.
Another friend told me not to let the devil steal my joy.

So while I am thinking about where the truth is leading me and watching for signs.
I believe the advice trusted of loved ones can help me to help begin the journey.
