Life:
Lately I have been a bit under the weather. Last Monday was the first day of my new role as a part-time float at my work, but the day before I strained a muscle in my lower back and a hurt back and childcare don't mix well. Last week I had three days off...
So I was totally pumped the Monday just gone, was all dressed and ready to dive right in...
And then I had an intense coughing fit and threw up half my breakfast at the bus stop...
Then that was another two days off.
I'm right as rain this morning though, no yucky cough and I'm wearing my ugly Christmas jumper to ward off any chill.
As for the ugly Christmas jumper, I picked it up for $10 at Wardrobe Warriors.
Theres a funny story to go with that...

Me: I'd like to get this, please.
Clerk: That will be $10.
Me: Um, isn't that the $5 rack?
Clerk: The first half is $5, the second half is $10.
Me: Okaaay.
Clerk: I bought this jumper back in England for an ugly Christmas jumper party, so it's come a long way.

LOVE:

A. and I are going good. We've had a few ups and downs the past year and a half but those challenges have brought us closer together which goes to show that God can use the ugliest circumstances for beautiful things.

& The Everyday:

After killing my brain-cells with too much Netflix, I am happy to say that I have gotten back into a creative groove. I'm working on a new book and doing lots of drawing!

A couple of weeks ago, I got a tad melancholy. I get that way sometimes because I overthink things. In this case I was thinking about the things I have wanted to do but haven't done. When I was 17 I had alot of naive optimism that life would go exactly the way I planned it. New Beginnings

LIFE Our second week in our new home has been uneventful...mostly. A. fell down in the city and chipped a front tooth. The circumstance had me thinking of the childhood rhyme Jack & Jill and I wonder if, when Jack fell down the hill whether his front teeth was the crown he broke... As for myself, I made the mistake of hand-washing our clothes in the laundry sink and hung it out to dry on the line. I forgot we left our clothes pegs at Fawlty Towers! The washing was hanging out there for three days until A. and *Harry found it all scattered on the lawn around the line! Whoops! LOVE The perks of living in a suburb where the buses go every 10-20 minutes means a longer sleep-in for yours truly. What's really cute is that A. and I walk to the bus stop together and this ritual makes me giddy. Inspiration and Hope

It has been a looooong time since I have written anything here, most of the writing I am doing these days is for my books. I have released my third novel and have started writing submission emails to book stores asking if they would like to order a few copies. Sometimes I get radio silence, other times I get a polite decline and best wishes and every now and then, I get a yes and in those moments it feels like I am living the dream. One of my biggest challenges as an indie writer is not letting fear, doubt or anxiety get the better of me. There are times when I run a horror movie in my head which begins and ends with boxes of unsold books in my living room and then I remind myself that I do not like horror movies and I'm tuning into something more hopeful and uplifting. But most of all,I think about how I want the right people to find my books and fall in love with the plots and charaters, that the universe is taking care of when, where, how and why.
