With Chocolate As My Kryptonite

I think I need glasses because last Monday morning I misread a school sign.
At first glance I thought it said 'Cuddles and Robotics Here'! What it really said was 'Coding and Robotics' here. Aiiii! I don't know whether it was Monday Morning Mayhem playing on my Before Coffee brain or whether I need to get my eyes checked.

A. and I have found a place for the engagement party. Its in the process of becoming official. So that means we have to start crackin' on those engagement invites.
Today we are looking at a potential venue for the wedding. A. is fairly optimistic and I am just going to keep an open mind.

& The Everyday

In the wake of realising that my attitude towards certain aspects of my life needs pixie dust and sparkle, I have been sprinkling, dusting and polishing what I know needs work. The end of the year is fast on our heels and now is the time to take out the box of Procrastination so there is less to worry about next year.
For example...fitting into a size 14 so I can buy my dress for the engagement party that is now hovering at the edge of the 2017 horizon...yikes!
At my p.t session today, my p.t took the training wheels off - metaphorically speaking. No more excuses, no more justifications, no more chocolate - edible or drinkable unless its a protein bar or shake, no take-out, no fizzy drinks, nothing greasy. And no more broken promises.
Yep, I know I sound like a broken track record. But this time I really want to do it.
If it means sacrificing another hour of precious sleep to work out at the gym.
I'll do it. Half-asleep, snappy and powered by coffee!

My Mum hails from a farming district called Kin-Kin and being a country girl who came to live in the big ol' city, has a yen for scenic drives to a place where she can see blue sky the color of forget-me-not's and you can inhale the fresh air mingled with flowers (and every so often, manure). The Dreamer

A couple of weeks ago, I got a tad melancholy. I get that way sometimes because I overthink things. In this case I was thinking about the things I have wanted to do but haven't done. When I was 17 I had alot of naive optimism that life would go exactly the way I planned it. Get a steady job, marry the man of my dreams by 25, have my first kid at the age of 26 (because that's what my Mum did,) be a housewife and a successful author - oh yes, my life looked trim and tidy as a garden hedge.  Then real life happend.   It's been beautiful, ugly, calm and crazy. There are days when I want to be apart of it and days that I'd rather hide in the safety of what is familiar and comfortable.  But I'm glad that its been this way because it has made me stronger, wiser and more resilient than the 17 year old me was. Inspiration and Hope

It has been a looooong time since I have written anything here, most of the writing I am doing these days is for my books. I have released my third novel and have started writing submission emails to book stores asking if they would like to order a few copies. Sometimes I get radio silence, other times I get a polite decline and best wishes and every now and then, I get a yes and in those moments it feels like I am living the dream. One of my biggest challenges as an indie writer is not letting fear, doubt or anxiety get the better of me. There are times when I run a horror movie in my head which begins and ends with boxes of unsold books in my living room and then I remind myself that I do not like horror movies and I'm tuning into something more hopeful and uplifting. But most of all,I think about how I want the right people to find my books and fall in love with the plots and charaters, that the universe is taking care of when, where, how and why.
